Following the CEHD Graduate Student Prelude event, the Counseling and Development program will be holding an orientation brunch hosted by our student organization, Chi Sigma Iota. The first hour will be for new students to learn more about the program, hear experiences from returning students, and meet faculty members. The second half of the event will be dedicated to food, fun and networking get to know the new students entering the program.

This event is an information session about the upcoming 2018-2019 Alternative Break program. We will be talking about our application process for Spring 2019 and Summer 2019 spring break trips. Alternative breaks are a year-long education process that culminates with a week-long service trip over spring break. We have trips in various locations domestically, and two international trips that are focused around different social issues like mass incarceration, indigenous rights, and environmental restoration.

Join us during our annual Mason Reads Movie Night as we screen Freedom Riders, an American historical documentary based on the Civil Rights era activists who worked to challenge segregation of interstate travel on a national scale. Popcorn and ice cream will be provided!
